Meli
Darkside
I was born with a pencil in my hand. My father always said the doctor looked at my hands and knew I would be an artist. Supported by my parents, I grew up drawing, and 11 years ago I began tattooing, a path that has taken me around the world.
My work is shaped by sacred geometry, high contrast, and the interplay of textures. I focus on the relationship between ornament and the human body, creating balance, movement, and harmony. Tattoo restoration is also a core part of my practice.
Textile art, passed down by my mother, a seamstress, remains a deep influence. Today, with my husband and fellow artist Ikebana, I am developing El Viaje Textil, a project exploring ancestral textile techniques and cultural heritage from around the world.
International
Jury
Since 2021, Meli has served as a judge at tattoo conventions across Colombia, Peru, and Mexico — including Meta Tattoo Fest, Tattoo Festival Santa Muerte, Bosa Expo Tattoo, Soacha Expo Tattoo, and Expo Tattoo Cundinamarca. Through these experiences, I continue to engage with the tattoo community, recognizing artistic skill, technical precision, and the diversity of styles that shape the industry.
